THESE WERE WORN ON THE INSIDE CUFFS OF THE SPECIAL „LIBERTY“ DRESS ENLISTED MAN’S BLUE PULLOVER JUMPER. THEY WERE PRIZED BY SAILORS AND GAVE THE UNIFORM A DISTINCTIVE FLAIR, REFLECTING THE OWNERS NAVAL TRADE OR PERSONAL PREFERENCE. THE U.S. NAVY SAILOR’S LONG TRADITION OF „DRESSING OUT“ THE INTERIOR OF THE SERVICE JUMPER DATES BACK WELL BEFORE THE TURN OF THE CENTURY AND WAS CONTINUED ON DURING THE SPANISH AMERICAN WAR, WORLD WAR I, WORLD WAR II, KOREA, VIETNAM, AND THE GULF WAR.
