This is a beautiful and historically significant antique chromolithograph print depicting Saint Roch (San Rocco), the Catholic patron saint of plague and pestilence. The Latin banner across the top reads “S. Rocis In Peste Patronus” (“Saint Roch, Patron in Pestilence”), and the image features the saint’s classic iconography: pilgrim’s staff, exposed wound on his thigh, a faithful dog at his side, and two flanking angels — all set against a pastoral Italian landscape with a church in the background.
